Beginners' section

Do you reach for a takeaway menu at meal times because you can’t cook? Does the thought of a recipe book or a dinner party bring you out in a rash? Well, fear not, this section has been designed to help those of you who usually steer clear of the kitchen…

Despite what you might think, most cooking is not difficult, once you’ve mastered the basics. And what better place to start than with eggs - nature’s most functional food.

A simple boiled egg and soldiers or scrambled egg on toast or omelette are quick, tasty nutritious meals that are good for you, not to mention kinder on the purse strings than a ready meal or that takeaway kebab. Click on the images below to learn how to make omelettes.

We’ll be adding new recipes every month, so you can gradually build on your skills.

Begin With Boiling Freshly Fried

Superbly Scrambled Perfectly Poached

The original omelette Raspberry souffle omelette

Cheese, tomato & ham souffle omelette Spanish omelette

Once you've mastered the basics, you can add other ingredients to make tasty main meals. Try Fusilli with Egg & Brocolli, Flamenco Eggs, Poached Egg and Oak Smoked Ham or Huevos Rancheros
