Cooking Eggstravaganza

Egg aficionado, Howard Helmer, will be bringing healthy eating to life at the first ever Health for Kids awards.

Helmer, the World’s Fastest Omelette Maker, will undertake a cooking demonstration, on behalf of category sponsor Lion Quality eggs, to show how easy it is to make a healthy food choice.

The Health for Kids Awards, which take place on 5 October, aim to reward efforts to effect a change in children’s attitude and behaviours which impact on healthy living and Helmer will be showing in practical terms how to make a nutritious meal in less than a minute.

Mark Williams from Lion Quality eggs said: “We got involved with the Health for Kids awards because we are keen that young people should have basic cooking skills and understand what makes a healthy diet.  Eggs are perfect for this, quick, healthy and convenient.”

As well as being a Gold sponsor for the overall awards, Lion Quality eggs will have sole sponsorship of the Healthy Eating 12-18 category, for the project which demonstrates how children have the confidence, skills and understanding to make healthy food choices and where healthy food and nutritious food and drink is made available.

Remember to look out for the Lion – all eggs bearing the Lion Quality mark are laid by British hens that have been vaccinated against salmonella and carry a best before date on the egg shell and pack to ensure freshness.
