Ploughman's egg pasties
Ingredients
- 1lb/450g frozen puff pastry, thawed (plain or wholemeal)

5oz/150g strong cheddar cheese, grated

3 medium British Lion eggs, hard boiled

2 medium British Lion eggs, beaten

1 slice bread, make into crumbs

2 tbsp sweet brown pickle

2 tbsp chopped nuts or sesame seeds to garnish
Preparation time: 10 mins, cooking time: 20 mins, serves: 10.
Method
- Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface large enough to cut out 10x6-7 inch/15-18cm circles.
- Mix the cheese, hard boiled eggs, onion, and one egg for filling, breadcrumbs, parsley and seasoning together.
- Spoon the mixture evenly into the centre of each round of pastry.
- Brush around the edges of the pastry with the last egg, press together and seal well.
- Glaze the tops of the pasties and sprinkle on the nuts or sesame seeds.
- Place on a lightly greased baking tray and bake at Gas Mark 6/200C/400F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown serve hot or cold.
